When new policies are issued or restrictions are lifted, we still need to keep flattening the curve, so we can protect our neighbors and reduce the spreading of COVID-19. Our fellow Hoosiers on the front line need our support. Here are a few topics you should be aware of as we move forward:

Emergencies Can’t Wait on COVID-19.
You might be reluctant to seek essential care, visit the ER, or treat significant pain, but Indiana hospitals are taking precautions to protect your safety and handle all medical emergencies. The hospital staff are experts on COVID-19, and they’re all wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) — you’re in good hands. Get the medical care you need, so that you don’t jeopardize your long-term health. Here are a few things worth noting:
- Hospitals can now perform elective surgeries and other procedures as long as they have a sufficient supply of PPE and the capacity to care for COVID-19 patients. Evaluation of the medical gear supply is completed weekly.
- Patients with respiratory symptoms are being kept away from others.
- Indiana hospitals are allowing little to no visitors — if they do, the visitor must complete a brief health screening.

Throughout this period, the physicians, nurses, and other staff of Indiana’s hospitals have also stood ready to safely deliver all essential medical care.
